Lost in My Mind
Hello, my friends! It’s time, once again, for another Press Play Friday. Have you been missing your weekly music fix? Yeah, I know you have. This week, I bring you the musical styling’s of The Head and the Heart. A few weeks ago, I was lucky enough to come across this up & coming band and I immediately fell in love with their heartfelt harmonies and homespun lyrics. The Seattle-based group brings a breath of fresh air to the tired and reverb-centric music industry with a down-home and rustic feeling to their folk/indie pop crafted songs. Their recently released self-titled debut album is full of foot tapping, hand clapping melodies and infectious harmonies that will have you singing into the long early morning hours.
Lost in My Mind, the first single off the album, is reminiscent of the wonderful integral harmonies and upbeat foot-stomping that Mumford & Sons bring to every song, but Lost in My Mind is a softer, folk inspired parallel. The Head and the Heart create a song with familiarity. They create a song that feels as if you are just sitting around a fire singing and playing with friends.
