TV Rewind: The Vampire Diaries – “Ghost World”

I see a lot of dead people

Source: Google Images

Hey. You know how I said that The End of The Affair was my favorite episode? Yeah, after last night, I’m gonna have to rethink that. Seriously, what a fantastic, yet drama filled night. Right? Drama. Drama. Drama. Boyfriend drama. Friend drama. Plus, a whole lot of ghost drama. Last night was packed to the brim with familiar faces from episodes past. While some of these so-called friends surprised us with their good intentions, some (or one in-particular) twisted their previous loyalty around and showed us their true colors. Though, we hoped a selected few would stay around for a little while longer (Ahem! Lexi), things did not turn out as such. Even in the short time they occupied Mystic Falls, the ghosts of episodes late managed to turn the town upside down and generate even more new storylines for us to enjoy. Now, please turn your attention to the front of the class. Your scheduled recap is waiting for you. Look out! This is a SPOILER ALERT!

Previously on The Vampire Diaries, Dead Uncle Mason decided to pay a little visit to resident vampire and heart ripper, Damon Salvatore. This week we find our sassy hero in peril, chained and stabbed, not so unlike the treatment Damon gave to Ghost Mason not too long ago. The unconscious vamp wakes up and finds himself in this troublesome situation with Ghost Mason overlooking with disdain. Only, Damon believes Ripper Stefan was responsible for the ‘complication.’ Stefan denies having anything to do with Damon’s current trouble, but kindly removes the hot poker from his chest cavity. He such a nice guy. Uh, huh. Unfortunately, Damon’s ring has been removed and Stefan wasn’t gathering up any brownie points when he refused to unchain Damon from the chair. This left Ghost Mason to easily draw the shades of the darkened room and give Damon a little sun-scorched pick-me-up.

TV Rewind: The Vampire Diaries – “Smells Like Teen Spirit”

Romance is kinda, sorta in the air

Source: Vampire Diaries Brasil

Wow. Did anyone else feel the tension in Mystic Falls slowly elevate off the charts and into dangerous territory last night? The unresolved sexual tension between Damon and Elena alone was at an all time high. It was an episode with its foundation placed solely on relationships and their ever developing highs and lows. Brothers and sisters. Boyfriends and girlfriends. Boyfriends and dead, ghost ex-girlfriends. Ripper’s and humans. Hybrids and vampires. Each relationship the Mystic Falls residents held was tested and reshaped into something new. We were all left wondering the current status of every relationship; if there even was one. *Cough* Jeremy and Bonnie. *Cough* Last night’s all new episode also had us asking, “WTF, Vicki?” Her sugar-coated attempt at helping Matt last week was demolished by her corrupted need and her lopsided ambivalence toward her ghost mission. Though, the most-talked about surprise was shown only seconds before the credits began to roll. An old friend (foe, whatever) had graced us with his presence, which led to Damon’s rude-awakening. It’s clear, something is happening in Mystic Falls. Its former residents are back from the grave and creating havoc. Cue spine-chilling music! What will happen from here on out? Well, we’ll just have to wait and see. Now, dear friends it’s time for your awesome recap and play-by-play. All you Stelena and Delena shippers watch out. This is a SPOILER ALERT!

On this weeks episode of The Vampire Diaries: Elena is having a tough time, after seeing her vampire ex-boyfriend turned into the ultimate Ripper, with no ounce of humanity left within his damned soul. Yikes. Also, said ex-boyfriend has come back to Mystic Falls to keep an eye on his former lady (or blood bag, as he so eloquently put it) at the request of his sadistic hybrid overlord. Oh, that’s gotta sting. Yep. Though, Elena’s trying to do the best she can in this tough situation. How so? Well, our little human is venturing out into the deserted woods and practicing kicking some vampire ass. Yay! Alaric tries to teach the Buffy in-training a thing or two, but is worried that Elena’s heart really isn’t in it. She fights back. Someone has to take Stefan down a peg and it’s going to be her. She needs to protect herself. It’s game on.

Right. After all, this is Twilight we’re talking about. All you need to do, is voice a few choice words and we’ll be instantaneously transformed into our original Twilight FanGirl selves. Ahem! TV Rewind: The Vampire Diaries – “The Reckoning”

Stefan’s Been A Bad Boy: Part 2

Source: The Vampire Diaries Blood Falls

Oh, my. Oh, my! Things just got a whole lot more complicated in Mystic Falls. Last nights stellar episode was not only a night filled with surprises, but supplied us with enough twists and turns that we’ll surely be spinning and seeing stars for at least another couple of weeks. Wow. It seems, when Klaus makes an entrance, he sure does make an entrance. Doesn’t he? He officially put his permanent mark on the residents of Mystic Falls last night, creating chaos wherever he stepped. Elena came face-to-face, once again, with her former vampire lover. While at first, it seemed the two made some progress, Klaus came along and completely shut down the idea of a Stelena reunion; forcing Stefan to become the thing we had feared most. Through it all, Tyler was the one who was most effected by Klaus’ evil reign. I can’t even . . . Gah! What? Like I’m going to spill the beans, now? Ha! No one was safe from his spell. Such a fantastic episode. *Twiddles thumbs* Well, what are we waiting for? Let’s get to the awesome recap and play-by-play. You know you want it, so here it comes. This is a SPOILER ALERT!

THUMP. Empty classrooms and dark, deserted hallways. THUMP. Well, this could be either very bad or very good. THUMP. I’m thinking it’s bad. Oh hey, Matt. It’s nice to see you. Looking good. Matt pumps some iron, but is soon interrupted by a mysterious bump in the night. Ooh, spooky. Now, being like every respectable random hot guy in a horror story, Matt decides to search for the corrupting noise. They never learn. Ghostly shadows move across the dimly lit halls, as Matt’s anxiety increases. Wait. Stop. Did you hear that? Oh so slowly, Matt creaks open a vacant classroom door to find . . . Oh, come on. Guys, what the hell? The Mystic Falls crew of deviant, supernaturally inclined students have their nefarious plans foiled by a distracted Matt. Caroline is adamant that the crew have the best year ever, which means for them, participating in Senior Prank Night is a must. Classic.

Album Review: Jack’s Mannequin – People and Things

“Keep your eyes on the road, on the Glass Passenger. He sings for a traveling band.”

Source: Google Images

Debuting their third studio album, Jack’s Mannequin has once again, brought us back to a place we love and remember so fondly. It’s great to be here again, isn’t it? With a new, but delightfully familiar sound, People and Things is the latest creation of melodies & lyrics from our friend and resident musical genius, Andrew McMahon. For fans, People and Things will be a surprising fusion of the easy, rock & pop inspired Everything in Transit and the powerful & personal journey of The Glass Passenger. It will be easy to recognize the usual flawless execution Andrew presents with each and every song he writes. Saying that, I’ve now had a week to break down the lyrics and phrasing – the melodies and the comforting refrains. I’ve listened to each song countless times. I’ve written ‘I love Andrew’ on all my notebooks (Not true, but the sentiment is there). I can honestly say, that whether or not you’re a fan, there is no doubt this album is an exceptionally crafted musical voyage you will instantly fall in love with. The thing that will bring you back time and time again, is the recognition that every Jack’s Mannequin song has a voice; each selection is unique and noteworthy.

Amy, I has to be my favorite song on the record and another classic Jack’s Mannequin track. I have no doubt this is one tune that will have audiences singing along at every show. The song is an exceptional addition to People and Things. Tracks like Television and Release Me also confirm Andrew’s success at writing heartfelt, endearing hooks.

An open letter to Damon Salvatore:

What the hell?

- The Viewing Public

Last night, The Vampire Diaries returned with their usual batch of moments designed to make us jump out of our seats, throw our slightly drooled-on Damon pillows, and ask the most important question: What just happened? Excitement and peril lurked around every turn, relationships were tested, and Damon got his ass kicked by Vampire Barbie. What a great night. *Sigh* There’s lots to get to, so let’s make this short, shall we? You’ve already seen the episode anyway. Oh, I must give a shout out to all the lovely ladies who comment each week and continually make me laugh. You’re all amazing. Damon hugs for all of you! Okay. Now get ready to take a drive to Mystic Falls, because this is a SPOILER ALERT!

“My kind of town. Chicago is, my kind of town.” Sorry. I kinda got caught up in the moment. Anyway, this week we were sent to the streets of present day Chicago. Klaus and his gang of miscreant vampires were lounging about, shopping for the used-to-be slightly dead vampire, Rebecca. The witty banter flowed as did the champagne, while grumpy Klaus complained about his lack of hybrid lackey’s due to the missing whereabouts of Rebecca’s necklace. Get over it already. Stefan, who was looking exceptionally good in this episode, had grown weary and decided to go out for some fresh air. Whoa, Katherine. Where did you come from? The Vampire Bitch had made it clear that she knew Stefan was up to something – withholding some master plan. Like a good bad-ass vampire, he didn’t give his game away.
