The Saga Continues

Hello! This is Kim the FanGirl reporting live from my local movie theatre. I’m just moments away from stepping into the darkened cinema for my first viewing of Breaking Dawn – the fourth movie production of Stephenie Meyer’s beloved series. Fans are shaking with anticipation and excitement. They’re gripping their armrests, waiting for the opening credits to arrive. They’re clutching their Edward collectors cups and muttering something about feathers. They’re starting the film! Squee! Sorry. Here we go. We first see . . .

We interrupt this broadcast with breaking news. We’ve just been told that Team Edward and Team Jacob have actually put aside their differences; and both have agreed to represent Team Renesmee for the film. Sources can neither confirm nor deny these rumors, but fans are demanding to know the truth.

For more on this story, we take you to our special correspondent, Set In Motion. As a fellow TwiHard, FanGirl, and blogger, she was first on the scene to witness the epic romance intensify between Edward Cullen and Bella Swan. Today, she was kind enough to share her review of the film with all of you. Warning! Possible spoilers ahead. Here, take a look at The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn. Now back to you, Kim!

Um . . . I think I’m going to need a moment here. I can’t even . . . Wow. Okay. Edward. Wow. You know what? I want to hear what you thought of Breaking Dawn. Gather all your thoughts and tell me what you thought of the movie.

What did you think of Breaking Dawn: Part 1? Love it? Hate it? What was your favorite scene? Favorite character? Favorite line? Can’t wait for Part 2? How did it compare to the book? Tell me in the comments!

Florence + The Machine “No Light, No Light”

“You want a revelation, some kind of resolution”

Florence Welch sways above the New York City backdrop – wind gliding through her auburn hair – as a chorus of Catholic school children accompany her melodic voice. All the while, the candles flicker and dim, while a voodoo priest dances to the relentless drum beat of No Light, No Light. Our musical songstress takes flight, fleeing her demons. God. Religion. Love. Death.“You want a revelation. You want to get it right.” Florence seemingly jumps from her heavenly perch; falling – begging for someone to catch her. Breaking the glass ceiling, she settles in the arms of the choir. A soft caress. A kiss. A whisper. Florence’s eyes open to her savior, her lover. We expect nothing less than the usual eccentric storytelling we receive from every Florence + The Machine music video, and No Light, No Light is no different. The visual metaphors spill into every crevice of the expressive picture, hiding images for you to catch and decipher. A woman finding a skeptical romance in the arms of her lover? A lost soul, running away from heartache? There are so many perceptions and images voicing their words in this visually engaging video, that it takes at least a couple of views to understand and appreciate the presented artwork. I think all of you Florence Fans will undoubtedly recognize and love the newest addition to the group; finding the artistic sights of the video Flo-worthy. Take a gander, friends. Tell me what you think of the latest from Ceremonials.

What did you think of the ‘No Light, No Light’ music video? What’s your favorite scene? Love the song? What is your favorite track on Ceremonials? Tell me in the comments!

TV Rewind: The Vampire Diaries – “Homecoming”

Mind Games

Source: The Vampire Diaries Blood Falls

Twist. Turn. Twist. Turn. I think it’s safe to say, that last nights episode of The Vampire Diaries left our heads spinning and our fingers clutching our Damon pillows. Wouldn’t you agree? This crazy, fast paced episode had us scratching our heads, wondering ‘What the hell just happened?’ It was a night that sated our need for action and excitement – closing the book on some storylines – but also established a few more. It wouldn’t be a mid-season finale if it didn’t. What? Yes, it’s true. Though the month without our darling Salvatore brothers will be difficult to endure, we shall prevail. We shall be patient. We shall watch numerous TVD fanvid’s to get our fix. Right? I hope so. Now, turn that frown upside down. We have an episode to recap. Let’s see what our friends in Mystic Falls were up to this week. You know the drill. This is a SPOILER ALERT!

Today on One Hybrid to Kill, Stefan begins to follow through on his orders from Michael. The humanity free vampire calls the unsuspecting hybrid to tell him the bad news. His father’s dead. Or is he?

Flashback! In order to lure Klaus back to Mystic, the team create an elaborate ruse. After developing a fabricated lie as to how Elena killed Michael (He threatened her, she stabbed him with one of those special daggers. You get the gist), Stefan details what exactly they have to do to take the hybrid overlord down. Klaus being, Klaus, he is going to want proof that his Step-Daddy is actually six feet under, or in this case, in a petrified state of un-dead. With Stefan’s ‘I have to do everything Klaus tells me’ situation, they team have to make sure this doesn’t become a problem. So, Michael offers his help. There is no way Klaus can see through their plan if Michael actually dies. Say, what? Yes, the Original Vamp takes one for the team when Elena actually stabs Michael with the dagger. Stefan witnesses the act. They have found a way around Stefan’s compulsion.

Album Review: Florence + The Machine – Ceremonials

“And I did cartwheels in your honour. Dancing on tiptoes; my own secret ceremonials”

Source: Google Images

When you first sit down and listen to Ceremonials, there is a blissful moment when you realize you’re not in Kansas anymore. You’ve been transported to some strange and wonderful dreamlike location; where ghosts roam the streets, lovers embrace and break into song, and Florence Welch looks down upon you from her majestic tree. There is no other place like it. You want to be there. You want to keep Florence in your pocket and have her sing you lullabies. Or maybe, that’s just me?

With the follow-up to their 2009 debut album, Lungs, Florence + The Machine (once again) present us with a dazzling and strong record we will be talking about endlessly. Songstress, Florence Welch, explores the deepest of emotion with intense poetic lyrics and her passionate, powerful voice. Alongside, The Machine create a vigorous performance, giving life to the each and every song.

Ceremonials is a delightful departure from her first album, combining the best bits and pieces from what we loved so much about Lungs, and fusing those with something new and original. Nothing is as you expect. This album is a seamless puzzle of varied styles of music and voices, perfectly pieced together.

TV Rewind: The Vampire Diaries – “Ordinary People”

Daddy Issues

Source: The Vampire Diaries Blood Falls

For the first time this season, we were allowed to sit back, stow our throwing chairs in the overhead compartment, and just let the drama seep in and ruminate. It was a night full of back story; a night full of flashbacks; a night full of emerging plot twists. All in all, it was a good episode. Though scoring low on the WTF? scale, Ordinary People gave us some long-awaited insight on the Original Vampire Family. We finally know the identity of the family’s patriarch (Was that really a surprise?), the identity of the Original Witch (That was most-definitely a surprise), and we finally know the true origin of TVD vampires. Last night, our favorite characters delved deeper into the roots of Mystic Falls and there is no turning back now. With these new revelations, the plot thickens. So grab your Damon blanket and matching pillow, pop some popcorn, and get ready. This is a SPOILER ALERT!

This week, we once again find ourselves searching the corridors of the Lockwood caves. Alaric brings his young ward (Elena) to see the unusual happening beneath the soil of Mystic Falls. BOO! What the hell, Damon? Our vampire friend is back to his normal self, trying to help Alaric and Elena decipher the ancient (a.k.a. “really, really old”) story carved on the stone walls. Hybrid. Werewolf. Witch. Vampire. All the makings for “The Lockwood Diaries: Pictionary Style.” Thanks, Damon. While that is all fine and dandy, Alaric points out the most unusual part of all this. Names. No, not just any names; names of the original family. Niklaus. Elijah. Rebecca (Yes, I know your name is spelled different. Just go with it). Michael. Michael? Oh, yes. Meet “Papa Original.” What?
