Flash Fiction #1: Cosmic Love

Flash fiction by definition means, “fiction that is extremely brief, typically only a few hundred words or fewer in its entirety.” There is something very intriguing about this. It’s a challenge. It’s the ultimate test for a writer, to make your reader feel something, learn something, or picture something in their mind, in as few words as possible. It’s something I’ve always wanted to try. Yet, every time I’ve attempted to write flash fiction, things tended to spiral and I ended up with a fifteen page epic. I couldn’t seem to rein myself in. Then, a couple of days ago, everything changed. This idea popped into my head, this story. I knew it was meant to be flash fiction from the start. I knew I wanted it to be an outtake from my short story, A Kind Of Magic. Truthfully, in the beginning, I wasn’t sure how my foray into flash fiction would turn out. Now, I can honestly say I’m addicted. I can’t wait to write more.

HAPPY READING! 😀
