Eight years later and we’re still waiting for Jack Sparrow (I’m sorry, Captain) to sail to our local movie theatre. Once again, this summer marks the return of our favorite pirate. Unfortunately, he’s missing two of his fellow cohorts, Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley. So while we wont be seeing Davy Jones and his fair lady any time soon, it seems we will be on the look out for mermaids, zombies, and Black Beard. Secretly, my 16-year-old FanGirl self is jumping up and down and quoting The Curse of the Black Pearl in its entirety (Yeah, she can). On the other hand, my adult FanGirl self is still not sure what to make of Captain Jack Sparrow’s return. The trailer boosts plenty of that playful Captain Jack humor and pirate angst, but . . . never mind. You know I’m going to see it.
