Nerd News gets Supernatural as we break down the latest news about season 6

A whole goody bag of news has come out recently about the upcoming season 6 of Supernatural. So, let’s break it down:

1. Season 6 will premiere on Friday, SEPTEMBER 24 at 8PM CT.

It seems so far away, but my excitement is probably at a 8 right now. The switch to Friday is kind of disappointment, though. I thought that pairing Supernatural with Vampire Diaries was perfect to get the young female audience they need. It seemed to work last season. It will be interesting to see if they will gain a bigger audience with the repairing of Smallville.

2. Jensen Ackles will make his directorial debut in the 4th episode of the season called, “A Weekend At Bobby’s.”

My excitement was at a 8, but now it’s definitely a 10. My favorite Winchester brother directing an episode? Epic!

3. Mitch Pileggi will return for multiple episodes as Sam and Dean‘s supposedly dead grandfather.
